Food Policy Council Will Host WIC Webinar June 21 from 12 – 1 p.m.

The Joint Fort Liberty & Cumberland County Food Policy Council to host a Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) 101 Informational Webinar June 21 from 12 – 1 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Department of Public Health is partnering with the Joint Fort Liberty & Cumberland County Food Policy Council to host a Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) 101 Informational Webinar June 21 from 12 – 1 p.m.

 

The webinar will provide information to healthcare providers and agencies providing services to women and children information about WIC. Members of the public are also invited to participate. The webinar will help participants better understand:

 

  • Strategies to effectively screen for food security
  • WIC eligibility criteria including required medical documentation
  • WIC food and formula benefits
  • Breastfeeding support
  • What to expect during a WIC appointment
  • Making a referral to WIC
  • Other local resources to address food insecurity will also be provided
