The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides part-time employment opportunities in community service activities for unemployed, low-income individuals ages 55 and older. The program promotes economic self-sufficiency and increases the number of older people who enjoy the benefits of unsubsidized employment in the public and private sectors.
The SCSEP is authorized under Title V of the Older Americas Act and is funded by Senior Services of America with a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
The Cumberland County SCSEP currently serves seniors in Cumberland, Robeson, Moore, Lee, Richmond and Bladen County. Participants are placed in community service assignments to allow them to develop their skills, receive paid training and build their confidence to secure unsubsidized positions. They meet the needs of local non-profit and public organizations and contribute to the general welfare of their community.
We are available to the public by phone and email Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
