Cumberland County is supported by funding from the North Carolina Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch, which has enabled the establishment of the Public Health Partnership with UNC Chapel Hill and the Fort Bragg Department of Public Health. This initiative focuses on preventing and reducing tobacco use within the Fort Bragg community. Additionally, the funding helps support a Public Health Educator with goals of implementing the CATCH My Breath program in the Fort Bragg Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools. The program aims to address tobacco and nicotine use among youth, equipping students with the tools to resist peer pressure and media influences, particularly regarding e-cigarettes.
