What is APP, (Adolescent Parenting Program)?
The Adolescent Parenting Program (APP) is a free program that serves any Cumberland County pregnant or parenting teen 19 years or younger, who wants support achieving life goals and establishing family plans. This program is a part of the Cumberland County Department of Public Health and works with other community support agencies, (school system and Department of Social Services).
Who is eligible for APP?
APP serves first time pregnant and parenting teens residing in Cumberland County, who are 19 years of age or younger, enrolled in school or another approved educational program and willing to postpone second pregnancy.
What can you do for me?
APP goals are to Educate, Empower and Encourage by strengthening employment skills to become economically self-sufficient, provide education and information on pregnancy prevention and future family planning, improve parenting skills, stabilize family support systems, locate and utilize community resources to meet your needs and assist with educational support to remain in school until graduation.
What does it cost?
Free to all participants who are eligible.
