This section makes recommendations to the Human Resources Director and County Manager with regards to the County’s Classification & Pay Plan, which includes the establishment and/or revision of job classification titles and salary grades.
Areas of service and assistance:
- Classification and occupational studies
- Salary surveys
- Analysis of workforce changes and labor market trends
- Review of position action requests such as reallocations, establishment of new positions/classifications and position transfers
- Development and maintenance of class specifications
- Consultation with managers with regards to position and organizational design
- Monitoring Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) provisions related to pay, overtime and hours worked
