Am I required to have an address posted on my building/home?
A posted address is required on each construction site to help improve the inspection request process and expedite the inspector’s daily workload. No inspections will be done if the address is not posted as described below:
- Legible and visible from the street or road frontage
- Installed on a contrasting background.
- It is recommended the address be at least 4-inch high.
- Posted on a post, pole, or other method to signify the construction site.
- For Final Inspection, the address must be installed on the structure before approval will be granted.

How do I request a building/trade inspection?
Building/trade inspections are requested via telephone to the Inspections Division or to the individual inspector’s office telephone. You will need to contact the Code Enforcement Division for a zoning inspection and the Fire Marshal’s Office for a fire inspection. Additionally, for an environmental health inspection, please contact the onsite office.
Can I request a live remote inspection?
Yes, there are limited inspections that are conducted via live remote. Live Remote Inspections are at the discretion of the Inspector. You must contact the Inspections Division to request a Live Remote Inspection.
How can I talk to a building/trade inspector?
Building and trade inspectors are in the office from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Do you offer after-hours inspections?
Yes, for a fee. Please contact the Inspections Division if you wish to schedule an after-hours inspection.
