What is the the Affordable Housing Program?
Affordable Housing Program (AHP) subsidies must be used for one of two purposes:
- To finance the purchase, construction, and/or rehabilitation of owner-occupied housing for very low, low, and moderate-income households; or
- To finance the purchase, construction, and/or rehabilitation of rental housing for very low, low, and moderate-income households.
Applicants may propose units for sale or for rent and in any combination of single family or attached housing design. Eligible participants are for-profit and non-profit entities.
Types of Assistance:
Financial assistance is provided to Developers as low interest loans. Financing is based on a 20 to 30-years amortization.
