The WIC (Women, Infants, Children) Department has added a WIC Information Line to improve telephone wait times for clients calling to make WIC appointments.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The WIC (Women, Infants, Children) Department at the Cumberland County Department of Public Health has added a WIC Information Line, in addition to the current WIC Appointment Line, to improve telephone wait times for clients calling to make appointments for the WIC program.

The WIC Information Line number is 910-433-4894. The Health Department added the WIC Information Line to improve the client experience. WIC staff will be available to answer questions from WIC clients, vendors, health care providers and community partners regarding eligibility, required documentation, benefit packages, infant feeding and formula, breastfeeding support or other concerns.

The WIC Information Line does not replace the WIC Appointment Line, which is 910-433-3730. Members of the public should continue using the appointment line to schedule new appointments and reschedule or cancel existing appointments.

“Our priority is to assure our WIC clients and other members of the public can get timely assistance to their WIC-related questions,” said Deputy Public Health Director Tamra Morris.

In addition to the added WIC Information Line, the Health Department encourages clients to utilize the new MyNCWIC portal, which allows clients to manage WIC appointments (request, reschedule or cancel), upload documents and complete remote or Telehealth appointments. WIC clients can sign up for the MyNCWIC portal at myncwic.ncdhhs.gov/portal or by calling the Cumberland County Department of Public Health at 910-433-4894.

WIC is a public health nutrition program administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture providing nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding support and healthcare referrals for income-eligible women who are pregnant or post-partum, infants and children up to age 5. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Find out more at https://www.ncdhhs.gov/usda-nondiscrimination-statement.
