FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County has reopened the Nonprofit Fiscal Recovery Assistance Program to allow more nonprofit organizations to apply for assistance. Nonprofit organizations have until Feb. 29, 2024 to submit applications for the program.
The application can be accessed on the County’s website at cumberlandcountync.gov/arp-nonprofit, or from the Board of Commissioners page on the County website within the “American Rescue Plan” heading under “ARP-Connected Projects”. In addition to the application, the website includes more information about the program, a budget template, frequently asked questions (FAQ) document, and a recorded virtual information session that was held in April 2023.
The Cumberland County Nonprofit Fiscal Recovery Assistance Program allows nonprofit organizations which perform a “public purpose” (programs concerned with employment, economic development, crime prevention, childcare, health, drug abuse, education, and welfare needs of persons of low to moderate income) to apply for up to $50,000 in direct assistance to reimburse organization expenses related to:
- Payroll, which includes wages and associated payroll taxes;
- Occupancy, which includes rental lease payments, mortgage (for organization property) and utilities;
- Programmatic, Direct Services;
- Training and Travel;
- Advertising, Printing, and Publication;
- Interpretation, Accessibility, Equity Items; and
- Other Operating Expenses.
Any nonprofit organizations which previously received funding through the program, but were approved for less than $50,000, may apply for additional funding up to the $50,000 cumulative total. Nonprofits which previously applied but were not recommended for funding will need to reapply to be considered.
