FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Tax Administration reminds citizens that Jan. 31 is the deadline for the 2025 annual property tax listing period for all residents and non-residents owning taxable property in Cumberland County. To avoid a 10% late listing penalty, property owners must complete, sign and return their listing forms by Jan. 31, 2025. If mailed, completed and signed listing forms must be postmarked on or before Jan. 31 to be accepted as timely.
Listing forms may be downloaded from the Cumberland County Tax Administration website, cumberlandcountync.gov/tax, and clicking on the “Forms & Publications” tab. Forms are also available in person at the Tax Administration Office located in Room 530 on the fifth floor of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, located at 117 Dick St., Fayetteville. Tax Administration is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Forms can also be delivered in person to the Tax Administration Office or dropped at the secure drop box, located near the U.S. Postal Service mailboxes in the rear parking lot, facing Cool Spring and Russell streets.
Taxable property includes:
- Business and income producing property
- Personal property
- Agri-business/farm income producing property
- Improvements to owned real estate property

Active duty, non-resident military personnel may be exempt from taxation on personal property only. To claim this exemption, a current end of month LES (Leave and Earning Statement) should be submitted with the listing.
