FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The following is a summary of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners meeting, which was held Oct. 2, 2023, at 9 a.m. in Room 118 of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse.
Commissioners recognized recipients of the Cumberland County Nonprofit Fiscal Recovery Assistance Program at the meeting. Earlier this year, Commissioners authorized the creation of the program to allow nonprofit organizations that perform a “public purpose” to apply for up to $50,000 in direct assistance to reimburse qualifying organization expenses. The Cumberland County Nonprofit Fiscal Recovery Assistance Program was funded using a portion of Cumberland County’s American Rescue Plan (ARPA) allocation. In total the Board of Commissioners approved nearly $1.7 million in funding for 39 nonprofit organizations, as listed below:
