Cumberland County Government announces the cancellation of public meetings and programs in response to Covid-19. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the latest County government information at co.cumberland.nc.us or on the County’s social media pages, accessible from the main website.
- The rabies vaccination clinics scheduled for March 24 – April 16 have been cancelled and are tentatively rescheduled for the fall.
- The Cumberland County Board of Health meeting tonight at 6 p.m. has been cancelled. Board of Health meetings are normally held the third Tuesday of the month.
- The Joint Planning Board meeting tonight at 6 p.m. has been cancelled. Planning Board meetings are normally held the third Tuesday of the month.
- The Library Board of Trustees meeting on March 19 has been cancelled.
- Cumberland County Cooperative Extension has cancelled or postponed all programs, events and classes, including the Better Living Series. Re-scheduled dates will be announced later.
Public Library Closings
All eight Cumberland County Public Library branches will close to the public and volunteers beginning at 6 p.m. tonight until further notice. During the closure, all late fees will be waived. Patrons can return materials to drop boxes located outside each library.
Library cardholders are encouraged to utilize digital resources through the County’s 24/7 virtual library at cumberland.lib.nc.us. Users can access eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines, online databases, continuing education courses, music and more.

Due to the closure, the library branches will not be used as locations for distribution of Cumberland County Schools curriculum materials.
The County has opened a general Cumberland Information Line at 910-678-7657 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays to handle calls regarding County services.
