Social Services Will Close at 12 Due to Air Conditioner Issue
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.– The Cumberland County Department of Social Services main building at 1225 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville will close at noon today due to an issue with one of the building’s chillers, which is causing climate control issues. County Facilities staff are working to resolve the issue and the facility is expected to open as normal Tuesday, May 7 at 7:30 a.m.
The closing will affect in-person services at the main DSS building on Ramsey Street, however Social Services staff members working remotely, in the community, in court, or other DSS facilities or receiving non-emergency medical transportation will continue to do so.
Citizens can continue to make child protective services reports by calling 910-677-2450 and adult protective services by calling 910-677-2388. Citizens can apply for economic services benefits such as Medicaid and Food & Nutritional Services through https://epass.nc.gov and some services are still available online by going to the DSS website at cumberlandcountync.gov/dss.
