Application Period Now Open for Nonprofit Assistance Program

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The application period is now open for nonprofit organizations in Cumberland County who wish to apply for a Community Impact Grant.

The Cumberland County Community Impact Grant Program allows nonprofit organizations to apply for up to $50,000 in direct assistance. Eligible organizations include:

  • Health and Human Services Organizations – Nonprofits providing mental health support, substance abuse treatment, food assistance, homelessness prevention, domestic violence (shelters), and other essential social services.
  • Religious and Faith-Based Organizations – Churches, faith-based community outreach programs, and religious nonprofits that provide food distribution, emergency assistance, or identified other public purpose.
  • Public Safety and Emergency Response Organizations – Volunteer fire departments, EMS organizations, and nonprofit disaster response entities supporting public safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Educational and Youth Development Organizations – Nonprofits providing services to at-risk youth, after-school programs, mentorship, vocational training, literacy programs, and other educational initiatives.
  • Arts, Culture, and Community Development Organizations – Nonprofits focused on preserving local arts, cultural heritage, and supporting economic revitalization and community development projects.

The application is available on the Cumberland County Website at https://pub.co.cumberland.nc.us/Forms/CIPNApplication. Applications will be accepted through close of business, March 21, 2025.

County staff will host a virtual information session on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025,  at 6 p.m. This session will provide an overview of the program and allow time for attendees to ask questions live. The session will also be recorded and uploaded to the County’s YouTube page.
