FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Board of Commissioners Chairman Kirk deViere will hold a press conference immediately following adjournment of the Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025. The press conference will be held in Room 118 of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, located at 117 Dick St., Fayetteville.
The April 7 press conference will be the first of what deViere calls monthly “Chats with the Chairman.” Chairman deViere’s intent for these chats is to engage members of the media in a setting conducive to informative conversations about Cumberland County Government topics of interest. Chairman deViere also desires to increase transparency, as well as educate and stimulate public interest in the important work of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners. “Chats with the Chairman” will be held monthly following the first Regular Meeting of each month. "Transparency builds stronger communities," said Chairman deViere. "These press conferences ensure media can get the information they need to accurately inform our residents about decisions affecting their lives. The goal of these 'chats' is to help keep our community informed through productive engagement with our local press."
The press conference will be live streamed through the County’s website at cumberlandcountync.gov, YouTube Channel and on CCNCTV Spectrum Channel 5.
Attendees are not required to sign up. However, anyone entering the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse must pass through a security screening checkpoint.
