FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Due to recent rainfall, improved vegetation conditions, and a reduced risk of fires, the Cumberland County Fire Marshal’s Office is lifting the county-wide burn ban, effective 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
This decision follows updated guidance from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. On April 1, 2025, Steve Troxler, Commissioner of the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, announced the statewide lift of the open burning restriction.
The burn ban was initially put in place on March 21, 2025, in response to dry conditions and the heightened risk of wildfires.
