Cumberland County property owners have until May 28, 2025 to submit a formal appeal for their 2025 assessed value to the Board of Equalization and Review.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Cumberland County property owners have until May 28, 2025 to submit a formal appeal for their 2025 assessed value to the Board of Equalization and Review. The Office of Tax Administration recently completed the 2025 revaluation of all real property to reflect fair market value as of Jan. 1, 2025.
Property owners may appeal their value by submitting a formal appeal to the Board of Equalization and Review. Taxpayers are encouraged to submit detailed information and/or documentation that supports their opinion of value or why they believe the assessed value does not reflect fair market value. Formal appeals are heard and decided by the board members, considering information submitted by the appellant and the county appraiser.
The time frame to submit formal appeals began March 25 and will end May 28 at 5 p.m.
Taxpayers may submit formal appeals in person or by mail. Appeals can be delivered in person to Room 543 in the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Courthouse located at 117 Dick Street, Fayetteville or in one of the secure drop boxes located in the courthouse parking lot off Cool Spring Street, or outside Tax Administration customer service on the 5th floor of the courthouse. Appeals may also be mailed to Cumberland County Board of Equalization and Review, P.O. Box 449, Fayetteville NC 28302.
Taxpayers may view their property record card and 2025 assessed value on the Tax Administration website at www.taxpwa.co.cumberland.nc.us/camapwa.
