FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Animal Services, located at 4704 Corporation Dr. in Fayetteville, will host a special Thanksgiving feast for shelter animals on Nov. 25, 2024 at 9 a.m. The event is private and not open to the public. Members of the media are invited to attend.
The Friends of Cumberland County AnimalS (FOCCAS) is organizing the meal, which will be served to approximately 100 dogs and 50 cats currently at the shelter.
“We believe every shelter animal deserves some extra love during the holidays,” said Animal Services Director Elaine Smith. “We are so grateful to FOCCAS for making this event possible again this year.”
While the event is closed to the public, those interested in donating food for the feast may deliver donations to the shelter by 5 p.m. on Nov. 23, 2024.
Donation items needed include:
- Canned tuna
- Canned chicken
- Plain canned pumpkin
- Green beans
- Unsweetened applesauce
