FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Animal Services, located at 4704 Corporation Dr. in Fayetteville, will host a special holiday feast for shelter animals on Dec. 20 at 9 a.m.
The event is private and not open to the public. Members of the media are invited to attend.
The Friends of Cumberland County AnimalS (FOCCAS) is organizing the meal, which will be served to approximately 100 dogs and 50 cats currently in the shelter.
"Animal Services aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all animals in need, and during the holidays, we want to give them a little extra love," said Animal Services Director Elaine Smith. "Thanks to FOCCAS, we are able to continue this annual tradition, and it's always a joy to see the happy faces and wagging tails."
While the event is closed to the public, those interested in donating food for the feast may deliver donations to the shelter by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19. Those interested in volunteering to serve the holiday meal may contact Amanda Organ, Volunteer Coordinator, at 910-438-4050 or aorgan@cumberlandcountync.gov.
