Planning and Inspections Launches Online Payment Service

Cumberland County Planning and Inspections, in partnership with PayIt, has launched a digital payment platform that will allow residential and business customers to make convenient, secure online payments.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Planning and Inspections, in partnership with PayIt, has launched a digital payment platform that will allow residential and business customers to make convenient, secure online payments.

This digital payment service is part of EnerGov, the Planning and Inspections online portal, and will enable customers to make payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week for Planning and Inspections services including permit fees, inspection fees and other related charges. The payment service is secure and ensures confidential financial transactions with instant confirmations.

“Our goal from the initial launch of our EnerGov portal has been to support businesses in Cumberland County as they build our local community,” said Planning and Inspections Director Rawls Howard. “By adding online payments to EnerGov, we are delivering an added layer of convenience to these businesses, ensuring they have what they need to continue to thrive.”

Previously, the process of making payments for Planning and Inspections services involved multiple steps of paperwork, mailed payments and office visits. The addition of online payments provides a more efficient and user-friendly experience for customers. The EnerGov portal, launched in July 2021, has already enabled applicants to submit materials digitally, reducing the reliance on paper plan submissions and expediting the overall process.
