White Flag Shelters Open Feb. 20 Due to Freezing Temperatures

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The National Weather Service is reporting freezing temperatures Tuesday, Feb. 20. In anticipation of forecast temperatures, the following area White Flag Shelter will be open.

The Salvation Army of the Sandhills Region will open a White Flag Shelter overnight on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Intake will open following dinner, between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The White Flag Shelter will be open from 6:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. The shelter is available to single men, women, and families. The Salvation Army Shelter is located at 245 Alexander St., Fayetteville. Find out more about the Salvation Army’s White Flag operations on their Facebook page at facebook.com/safayetteville.

True Vine Ministries will not open a White Flag shelter on Tuesday, Feb. 20, due to facility issues.

Cumberland County Emergency Services is closely monitoring weather conditions and is coordinating with Cumberland County Community Development and community partners as they make White Flag shelter determinations and preparations. Updates will be provided via press release and social media.
